Solid local place - great coffee and sandwiches.

I go here every weekday morning for my coffee. Both the iced and hot coffee does the trick for an excellent price.

I've also gotten some food there - grape leaves and a grilled cheese. Both were delicious (especially the grape leaves).

The people behind the counter are usually quite friendly as well even when they're really busy.

Great place to meet grad students!^) Quiet, unpretentious cafe with good, strong coffee and a smattering of deli offerings. I've never eaten here so I can't speak to the food but you can have a nice quiet conversation here - it never seems to get overly crowded - for little more than a cup o' joe. Recommended!

Nice, quiet coffee shop with a good selection of food as well. Location great for both Columbia and Manhattan School of Music students. I'm here at least once a week during the school year, and I've never been disappointed. Coffee is great (both iced and hot), avocado salad is delicious, and the people that work there are wonderful. Bagels are what you'd expect at a coffee shop - not quite the best that NYC has to offer but not bad by any means.

My experience at Broadway Au Lait was average. There wasn't anything outstanding about this place, but it wasn't half bad, either. There was a good amount of seating, the coffee prices were good for the amount of coffee you'd get, and the food seems to be okay. I only had the spinach pie, but it was decent. Everything about this place is okay. I think it's a safe place to go to have a quick and cheap lunch!
